End of the first pizza series

So continuing on from the previous post I did do exactly what I said I made two pieces on Monday and two pizzas on Tuesday this week the each was cut into six slices and each time I froze six slices in Ziploc bags for meal prep for bringing into work and ate the other pizza and they were very delicious I think the main thing I could improve is changing the blend of seasoning and browning the onions with the meat and using ground Turkey instead of ground chicken because I think that that is A good way to cook the meat and onions together so the onions are nice and brown because well these pizzas were delicious and from my own work experience working for Domino’s I know that topping a pizza with diced onions (not browned) is an industry standard. I can’t really see myself putting this amount of effort into blogging during the week maybe the weekend so I’m going to call it on the pizza series for now and go back to the lab. Once I have an actual recipe figured out I may write another post.

The amount of pizza cheese that’s used is less than I expected because the pizzas are not that big so it doesn’t take a lot of cheese to cover them. Using barbecue sauce instead of like a jar marinara sauce (I don’t think has as stable a fridge life) and doesn’t take any additional time to I think is pretty smart. I don’t think I really use that much barbecue sauce that I’m concerned about the cost of it either. I know the dough itself is about two and change per each of these pizzas which are maybe a little smaller but about the same size as the ready to bake pizza crust pizzas that would cost $3 each, which seems small but I cooked this once and it made four pizzas with high protein food frozen for the future. It’s not that big a difference and yet, I would never see myself going out and spending $12 on pizza crusts at once. (Instead I will keep one ready in case of a date.)

Now it’s been a few more days and my memory of what happened with these pizzas is fleeting–they are great meal prep for my work though, keeping pieces frozen in zip lock bags, chucking those in tupperware in a lunch box, it might be BIS (best-in-slot) for my lunch box. So I will keep cooking them and once I come up with a recipe probably update.
